Bomber jackets are the hottest thing around right now. It is the must have piece this season. There are so many different versions of the bomber jackets there is sure to be one that fits your personality and style.
I wanted to find out where the bomber jacket originated from. I discovered the bomber jacket, or flight jacket has been around for a very, very long time. The bomber jacket goes all the way back to World War 1. The military pilots needed something warm to wear during flight. They were made out of leather because it was durable to stand the weather conditions.
Over the years the bomber jacket has transformed, it wasn’t till the late 60’s to 80’s the bomber jacket became the fashionable item it is today.
I’ve chosen 5 all $60 and under, in different material and colours. There is a cross between more feminine styles to more military to try and cater to everyone. You can wear it over a t-shirt with jeans and sneakers or with a dress. Have fun, don’t be afraid to style your bomber with what you have in your wardrobe.
The Ultimate Bomber Jacket in Jersey – Navy is a classic colour and a popular one. Jersey is very comfortable and therefore practical to wear when you’re on the run.
Lightweight Zipped Sleeve Pocket in pink – not much detail and more feminine because of it’s blushing colour. Made from polyester and lightweight so you can still wear it as the weather gets warmer.
The Boohoo Clean Cotton Bomber Jacket – This one is made from cotton, another one of my favourite materials. This khaki version is more on the military side which is right on trend. I love the zipper details on the sleeves.
The Sophia Velvet Bomber Jacket – Velvet and embroidery on and the front and back. It’s fairly light weight to wear in spring and less puffy on the arms if you don’t like adding bulk to your shoulders.
Ponte in black – Another less bulky jacket. Cute zippers on the sleeves. At $50 it’s a steal. It would be very easy to style this jacket because it’s so versatile.
Which one would you choose? Are you a proud owner of a bomber jacket?
Gigi is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met. In all the years I’ve known her she never ceases to amaze me.
It was our good friend Kate’s birthday the other weekend. If you follow Notsopeachie on Instagram, you would’ve seen the sea wench costume I wore. It was a pirate theme birthday not that I need an excuse to dress as a wench.
I enjoy buying presents for friends but I feel that it gets harder and harder every year. I bought Kate a Pandora charm. Some of you will be thinking, oh that’s nice a Pandora charm. But wait till you read what Gigi got her.
Kate opened Gigi’s present. It’s a picture frame and inside real flowers arranged into a pretty picture. I said “That’s pretty Gigi where did you buy that from? She said “I made it using the flowers from Kate’s wedding bouquet”. My reaction, WHAT THE F***. WHERE DID YOU COME FROM? She had dried the flowers from Kate’s wedding bouquet from a year and a half ago and made a piece of artwork with it.
Rose chose that moment to ask me what I did with my bouquet I got from being Maid of Honour at Rachel’s wedding in January. I answered as quickly as I could “I chucked it out”. I could feel my heart sink I felt SO horrible. I felt like the worst friend ever.
One birthday Gigi made me a binded menu and when I opened it up it had three entrées, mains and desserts with pictures. My present was I got to choose an entrée, main and dessert and a day for her to come over and cook it for me. Another birthday she burnt her finger tips making fortune cookies where she hand picked quotes especially for me.
She made me a shoe box full of them. All my friends buy me wonderful gifts and I’m very lucky to have such thoughtful friends. I think with Gigi she puts in so much time and effort with her gifts it’s very touching.
I think Gigi should start a business selling gift ideas for everyone who struggles to think of what to buy people especially for heart felt gifts.
So readers, do you have a friend who comes up with amazing gifts every time? What do you think about a company that offers gift ideas?

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Autumn. It did take longer than expected but with the temperature dropping and leaves starting to fall off trees I think it’s safe to say Autumn has arrived. I love Autumn, it’s not too cold and it’s not too hot and I get to wear some of my favourite items of clothing this time of year. Jeans, knits, ponchos, tunics just to name a few.
This outfit is simplistic but not dull, comfortable yet stylish. You could wear this outfit to work on casual Friday’s, grocery shopping or catching up with friends. When it gets cold you could wear a trench coat or leather jacket with it. Dress it up with boots or strappy heels, a clutch and statement earrings.
Black jeans is one of the greatest inventions of all time. If you don’t own a pair of black jeans this is why you should run out and buy a pair;
- Dirt doesn’t show on them
- They go with everything
I bought these Prima Estelle Curve Embracer skinny jeans from Jeanswest. I’ve been buying Jeanswest jeans for quite some time now and I love how they cater for the vertically challenged like myself. I would normally have to pay to get my jeans altered but I don’t have to with Jeanswest 7/8 jeans they are the perfect length. There jeans hold there shape and colour wash after wash. I love jeans I wear mine till I literally get holes in them, (my baby thighs rub together). Good quality jeans are essential.
I’m having a love affair with burgundy at the moment. I’m buying so much burgundy I can’t get enough of it. In the past during the cooler months I would normally stick to wearing navy, black and grey. It can pay off to try something new because you might just end up loving it.
This side split roll neck sleeveless knit from Forever New is really affordable and versatile. When it gets colder you can wear it on top a leather jacket, cardigan or parker with a scarf. Black, white, navy, mustard and grey works well with this colour.
Now lets talk shoes. I’m wearing the Tiffy snake skin lace up flats from Target. They are comfy and sexy well I think there sexy for flats. You can’t buy the snakeskin online but you can buy black online.
Is this an outfit you would wear on the weekend? What colours are you loving right now?
You’ve slept through your alarm and you’ve woken up in a panic. You should be leaving your house but you know you’re going to be late. Stress is increasing and you still have no idea what you’re going to wear. We’ve all been there, right? So what do you wear when you don’t know what to wear? Something comfortable yet feminine? Something cool enough to wear in this abnormally warm autumn weather or wearing layers just incase the temperature drops. I’m talking about the shirt dress.
There’s so much to love about a shirt dress and this Jolie belted shirt dress by Atmos and Here is no exception.
+ You can wear it while breastfeeding.
+ Has buttons so busty women like myself can undo a couple of the buttons to open up the chest area to elongate your neck
+ Perfect length for the vertically challenged and for anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable showing too much leg
+ It has a belt that gives you shape
+ Convenience of two pockets
+ Floral pattern to make you feel like a lady
+ The material is lightweight so its comfortable to wear while it’s still warm
+ When the weather does get cooler, (I’m soo looking forward to it getting cooler) you can wear this shirt dress with tights, boots, scarf and a coat to keep you warm
It’s a piece you can get a lot of wear out of and good value for money. I think you’ll agree also that a skirt dress is one of the easiest transeasonal pieces for someone who is time poor.
So tell me readers, do you love shirt dresses? Do you love the Jolie belted shirt dress as much as I do?
Where have I been? I’ve been missing in action the past few days doing a personal styling course. It was so much fun, I got met a fabulous group of women and learnt a lot too.
Once I completed the course, I was inspired to sort through my own wardrobe. Here are my tips on how you can get the most out of your wardrobe.
- You should love everything in your wardrobe. I cleaned out my wardrobe last September so, I didn’t think I owned anything I didn’t already love until I had another look. Take the time to go through your wardrobe and giveaway anything you no longer love. Three years ago, you probably loved that furry sweater but do you still love it now? Have you worn it recently? Does it still fit you? What are the chances of you wearing it in the next six months? If you answer ‘no’ to either of those questions, it’s probably time to part ways. Coming from a self confessed hoarder clothes breakups are hard. When I have no more room in my wardrobe, my only option is to get rid of something else. It’s actually a really good feeling and I never miss what I get rid of.
2. There is no wrong way to organise your wardrobe, it’s whatever works for you. My wardrobe is split into two – corporate and weekend clothes. I found arranging my clothes in this order made finding what to wear each morning a lot quicker then when I arranged my wardrobe by colours. This is my preference but may not work for everyone. You might like to arrange your clothes seasonally, by colour, by garment so, you might put all your dresses together, pants etc. You might like to arrange your clothes from casual to dressy. If you don’t have a system in your wardrobe, choose one based on what determines what you wear each day. If you choose by what colour you feel like wearing sort by colour. If your current system isn’t working for you now is a good time to change it.
3. Now that you have gone through your wardrobe and kept what you love, you’re responsible for getting wear out of everything in your wardrobe. I know a few of you will be thinking “but I don’t have anywhere to wear them too?” Make an occasion to wear them. Who owns chinaware that never gets used? Life goes by way too quickly, so celebrate the small things with fine china. Dress up for no other reason than to feel good.
