Bomber jackets are the hottest thing around right now. It is the must have piece this season. There are so many different versions of the bomber jackets there is sure to be one that fits your personality and style.
I wanted to find out where the bomber jacket originated from. I discovered the bomber jacket, or flight jacket has been around for a very, very long time. The bomber jacket goes all the way back to World War 1. The military pilots needed something warm to wear during flight. They were made out of leather because it was durable to stand the weather conditions.
Over the years the bomber jacket has transformed, it wasn’t till the late 60’s to 80’s the bomber jacket became the fashionable item it is today.
I’ve chosen 5 all $60 and under, in different material and colours. There is a cross between more feminine styles to more military to try and cater to everyone. You can wear it over a t-shirt with jeans and sneakers or with a dress. Have fun, don’t be afraid to style your bomber with what you have in your wardrobe.
The Ultimate Bomber Jacket in Jersey – Navy is a classic colour and a popular one. Jersey is very comfortable and therefore practical to wear when you’re on the run.
Lightweight Zipped Sleeve Pocket in pink – not much detail and more feminine because of it’s blushing colour. Made from polyester and lightweight so you can still wear it as the weather gets warmer.
The Boohoo Clean Cotton Bomber Jacket – This one is made from cotton, another one of my favourite materials. This khaki version is more on the military side which is right on trend. I love the zipper details on the sleeves.
The Sophia Velvet Bomber Jacket – Velvet and embroidery on and the front and back. It’s fairly light weight to wear in spring and less puffy on the arms if you don’t like adding bulk to your shoulders.
Ponte in black – Another less bulky jacket. Cute zippers on the sleeves. At $50 it’s a steal. It would be very easy to style this jacket because it’s so versatile.
Which one would you choose? Are you a proud owner of a bomber jacket?
Gigi is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met. In all the years I’ve known her she never ceases to amaze me.
It was our good friend Kate’s birthday the other weekend. If you follow Notsopeachie on Instagram, you would’ve seen the sea wench costume I wore. It was a pirate theme birthday not that I need an excuse to dress as a wench.
I enjoy buying presents for friends but I feel that it gets harder and harder every year. I bought Kate a Pandora charm. Some of you will be thinking, oh that’s nice a Pandora charm. But wait till you read what Gigi got her.
Kate opened Gigi’s present. It’s a picture frame and inside real flowers arranged into a pretty picture. I said “That’s pretty Gigi where did you buy that from? She said “I made it using the flowers from Kate’s wedding bouquet”. My reaction, WHAT THE F***. WHERE DID YOU COME FROM? She had dried the flowers from Kate’s wedding bouquet from a year and a half ago and made a piece of artwork with it.
Rose chose that moment to ask me what I did with my bouquet I got from being Maid of Honour at Rachel’s wedding in January. I answered as quickly as I could “I chucked it out”. I could feel my heart sink I felt SO horrible. I felt like the worst friend ever.
One birthday Gigi made me a binded menu and when I opened it up it had three entrées, mains and desserts with pictures. My present was I got to choose an entrée, main and dessert and a day for her to come over and cook it for me. Another birthday she burnt her finger tips making fortune cookies where she hand picked quotes especially for me.
She made me a shoe box full of them. All my friends buy me wonderful gifts and I’m very lucky to have such thoughtful friends. I think with Gigi she puts in so much time and effort with her gifts it’s very touching.
I think Gigi should start a business selling gift ideas for everyone who struggles to think of what to buy people especially for heart felt gifts.
So readers, do you have a friend who comes up with amazing gifts every time? What do you think about a company that offers gift ideas?

Where have I been? I’ve been missing in action the past few days doing a personal styling course. It was so much fun, I got met a fabulous group of women and learnt a lot too.
Once I completed the course, I was inspired to sort through my own wardrobe. Here are my tips on how you can get the most out of your wardrobe.
- You should love everything in your wardrobe. I cleaned out my wardrobe last September so, I didn’t think I owned anything I didn’t already love until I had another look. Take the time to go through your wardrobe and giveaway anything you no longer love. Three years ago, you probably loved that furry sweater but do you still love it now? Have you worn it recently? Does it still fit you? What are the chances of you wearing it in the next six months? If you answer ‘no’ to either of those questions, it’s probably time to part ways. Coming from a self confessed hoarder clothes breakups are hard. When I have no more room in my wardrobe, my only option is to get rid of something else. It’s actually a really good feeling and I never miss what I get rid of.
2. There is no wrong way to organise your wardrobe, it’s whatever works for you. My wardrobe is split into two – corporate and weekend clothes. I found arranging my clothes in this order made finding what to wear each morning a lot quicker then when I arranged my wardrobe by colours. This is my preference but may not work for everyone. You might like to arrange your clothes seasonally, by colour, by garment so, you might put all your dresses together, pants etc. You might like to arrange your clothes from casual to dressy. If you don’t have a system in your wardrobe, choose one based on what determines what you wear each day. If you choose by what colour you feel like wearing sort by colour. If your current system isn’t working for you now is a good time to change it.
3. Now that you have gone through your wardrobe and kept what you love, you’re responsible for getting wear out of everything in your wardrobe. I know a few of you will be thinking “but I don’t have anywhere to wear them too?” Make an occasion to wear them. Who owns chinaware that never gets used? Life goes by way too quickly, so celebrate the small things with fine china. Dress up for no other reason than to feel good.
If you’re in Sydney and were after a styling session with me or know someone who might benefit from one you can shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Last weekend I went to my cousin’s baby’s christening. Below is a picture of the gorgeous little man because I just couldn’t help myself. It was going to be yet another hot weekend in Sydney. No signs of Autumn just yet.
I ran out of time to buy an outfit so I had to dig deep into my wardrobe and find something that was going to be cool enough but also appropriate.
I’m really loving white at the moment it’s so lovely and fresh. When I was a teenager I was led to believe only skinny girls should wear white because it’s not as flattering as black. What I know now is all about the cut and fit of your outfit determines what suits your body. The message of this post is wear white. Personal tip, if you have a habit of dropping food on you like I do, don’t eat while wearing white 🙂
As I’m bigger at the bottom I personally think it’s more flattering to wear a fitted bottom like this tailored skirt. The top I can afford to go a bit looser because I went with a fitted bottom and my curves aren’t hidden. You could wear a fitted top and go with a looser bottom it works both way.
This white skirt I purchased in the January sales. Here is a similar one.
My top is by White Closet and I found a very similar White Closet top here.
So readers, do you like wearing white?
I have a confession to make… my body odour doesn’t smell like roses all the time and that’s why choosing a good deodorant is important to me. Nobody wants to smell of body odour and in this warm weather, you need deodorant that is going to protect you all day long. Nobody wants to smell it’s embarrassing. People keep their distance from you and it’s not pleasant for everyone around you. The pharmacist, my friend Heba and I have come together once again to review Mitchum roll on and to see if it delivers.
Our bodies need to sweat to cool down otherwise our internal organs would get cooked inside out. Sweat is odourless, the reason why we smell is when we sweat bacteria that lives on our skin flourish’s in the damp warm folds in our armpits.
Mitchum roll on is anti-perspirant. It works by blocking the pores in the skin for a period of time, so it limits the sweat flow to the skin which helps against excessive sweating and body odour. Mitchum claims to work for up to 48 hours.
Mitchum uses fragrances such as geraniol coumarin, hexyl cinnamal and citronellol to mask unpleasant smells. This deodorant also works as a disinfectant because it has hydrogen peroxide, which kills odour producing bacteria.
You can use this deodorant after you shave as it doesn’t irritate your skin. Ingredients include aloe vera, lauric acid, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol and vitamin E which provides softness to sensitive skin.
I’ve been using this deodorant for at least six months and I love it because after a long hit day in the sun, I’m still protected from body odour. Also if I apply it after I get dressed it doesn’t leave white marks. Be mindful that it does apply on wet. It doesn’t irritate my skin, it’s a winner for me.
I buy my Mitchum roll on from Woolworths.
So readers, have you tried Mitchum roll on? What’s your favourite deodorant?
I was meant to post this my first week back to work but I’ve been missing in action organising my friend’s hen’s celebration which was on the weekend. On a side note, organising an event is stressful right? I’ve been dying to show you this dress for a while now and I hope you love it as much as I do.
I love the brand Atmos&Here. I’m always guaranteed to find something I love by Atmos&Here on The Iconic website… every single time!
I haven’t bought much work attire in a long time so, my outfits for work are looking pretty average. I didn’t want to start work in the New Year wearing something quite ordinary to only end up feeling quite ordinary by the end of my first day back. You want to feel confident at work and when you love what you’re wearing, you feel great and your confidence shines through.
The Collette Jersey Wrap Dress is versatile, you’re not just limited to wearing it to work, it doubles as a weekeend dress. I’m short, curvy and this style of dress compliments my figure. A V neck gives the illusion of a longer neck than what I actually do and it’s also good for the bust area.
I love the monochrome pattern and how comfortable it is especially in the warm weather.
So readers, what do you think of my new dress? Have you bought anything from Atmos&Here before?
A lot people will be returning back to work today and let’s be honest unless you’re absolutely in love with your job it’s a dreaded day for most. I can’t work miracles and get your boss to call you and to say have another day off but I can share five positives for returning to work.
- We go back to a routine and routines are good for us. Routines make us more productive, help our bodies to get into a regular sleeping pattern, we tend to spend less money and eat healthier how often do we put in weight during the holidays especially the Christmas period.
- Why do we go to work? $$$$ without money we can’t go on holidays, go to the hairdresser, pay our mobile bill so we can go on social media or order Menulog while watching Netflix’s.
- You have a job to go to and that’s something to be happy about. Anyone who’s struggled with finding a job knows how hard and stressful it can be.
- You’re accruing annual leave right now as you work so you’re that much closer to having enough leave to go back on holidays.
- You’re not alone everyone, else in the office is feeling just as miserable as you are so hang in there.
So readers, how was your first day back or are you still on holidays?

So readers tell me how is your Christmas shopping coming along? Have you started?
About six weeks ago I was shopping in Target for underwear when I heard the song ‘The First Noel’ start playing. An overwhelming feeling came over me, I wasn’t ready to think about Christmas yet and I was still coming to terms with it being October – like when did that happen! With six weeks till Christmas it was time to face the music, Christmas was coming and it was approaching faster than the speed of light.
Last year was a really sad time of the year for me after losing my grandma just a few weeks before Christmas. This year I’m hoping it will be more of a joyous time and filled with the Christmas spirit once again.
For me personally my favourite part of Christmas besides stuffing my face with food is buying presents for people. I love putting thought into a gift that I think a person will really appreciate and love seeing their face light up when they unwrap it. I see present exchanging as an opportunity to make someone happy who might look happy on the outside but not necessarily on the inside. A little thought can really make a difference to someone.
I do sometimes get stuck on what to buy people and I know I’m not the only one, so that’s how I came up with All I Want For Christmas. For the next six weeks leading up to Christmas I’ll post affordable gift ideas to hopefully make your life easier. You might even find something for those people who are hard to buy for. You can do your Christmas shopping online in the comfort of your own home, without the stress of trying to find an expensive parking spot at crowded shopping centres.
Sephora’s Mirenesse Mini Velvet Lip Plumper Mania – Nudes x 4 is a perfect stocking filler or Kris Kringle present. I picked nude because I love the nude colours but there are others to choose from. I want to buy these for myself, great colours and they plump up your lips … what’s there not to love? You can purchase all four for just $33. Sephora have free delivery when you spend $55 or over. Sephora has so many great products to choose from. If you purchase a second item its free delivery otherwise shipping cost is $15.
You’re either a tea drinker or a coffee drinker and my friends who love their tea LOVE T2. We all know someone who loves tea and this Cotton Collective Pack contains 80 teabags which would be a dream for any tea lover. This pack is $85 and standard shipping is free. They also do gift wrapping, what more could we ask for?
Stationery has certainly transformed since I was at school. Kikki.K not only has bright and colourful stationery but has useful tools to get you organised like this Textured Leather Personal Planner. I’ve chosen the colour Ocean but there are many to choose from. This planner isn’t just great for stationery lovers but for anyone. I have chosen the medium size because its a good size to fit your handbag. There is a larger size available. It costs $64.95 and it qualifies for free shipping.
Bras N Things have a great sleepwear range. I love this Sweet Gingham PJ nightshirt in light pink. I think its a great alternative from other sleepwear people may have in their wardrobes. It’s only $39.99 and express delivery is just $9.50.
If you have other suggestions for gift ideas please share. I will be back next week with more Christmas present ideas.
Jo from iCurvy has taken this pin from They All Hate Us for this month’s challenge. What I do is put my own spin to it, using my style but inspiration from the pin. This pin shows two ladies looking hot and feminine wearing denim on denim. I love chambray and light denim especially in warmer weather. The leopard, stripes, scarf and heels really gives it that modern chic look.
Here is my comfortable but still chic spin.
The jacket was a gift but here is a similar one // Chambray dress is last seasons from Mix Apparel but here is a similar one from Mix Apparel // You can buy these Tory Burch thongs here // Necklace was from eBay here is a similar one from The Adorn Collective
Firstly I want to apologize about the picture quality this photo was taken as the sun was setting. I went for more of a comfortable approach opting for thongs over heels, I live in Australia so thongs are totally acceptable. These thongs have a leather strap and gold detail so they are still quite feminine. I love tan and denim they go together like strawberries and chocolate. To brake up the denim on denim and to add some sparkle to the outfit and also because I love some bling I’ve added a statement piece which I got from eBay a few years ago. This chambray dress is really comfortable and practical to wear and it’s right on trend this season. Denim jackets are a classic, who hasn’t owned a denim jacket in their life? This one came all the way from Spain.
